A sun-kissed barren land, red like terracotta and scattered with cracks and pebbles, making you wonder how the olive trees manage to grow so beautifully and robustly. Dry stone walls that mark the boundaries of the country roads: ‘tratturi, diaries of stories‘ (I had read that on the label of a wine, most likely a Primitivo di Manduria). Martina Franca holds many of my memories.
Today, it becomes the inspiration for a collection of ceramic bathroom tiles.
The collection has been nominated for the ‘Carreaux de ciment solidaire‘ competition organized in September 2024 by Cesar Bazar, a ceramic artisan from Pantin (FR). The profits from the sale of the tiles will be entirely donated to SOS Méditerranée and Secours Populaire.
